Award-winning, Qualmark 4 Star Plus (Boutique & Lodging), Tairoa Lodge offers boutique accommodation options on the southern edge of Hawera, just two minutes to the centre of town.  Recently awarded a ‘Garden of Significance’  by the New Zealand Gardens Trust.  Tastefully styled rooms and two cottages are nestled amongst mature New Zealand native and exotic trees in established park-like grounds. 

Tairoa Lodge

Qualmark 4 Star Plus, the 1875 Victorian villa is surrounded by towering Kauri, copper beech, rhododendron and camellia trees. The Lodge provides three guest rooms each with private ensuite and with views over the swimming pool or garden. Sumptuous breakfasts and dinners are served in the formal dining room and guests have their own sitting room to relax in. All of the suites are serviced daily and Tairoa Lodge is tastefully decorated with heritage furnishings, drapery and collectables.

Tairoa Cottage

A stroll through the garden from Tairoa Lodge takes you to the private Tairoa Cottage, a two-bedroom, self-contained restored heritage cottage with a wrap-around verandah and outdoor spa pool. Tairoa Cottage is perfect for a couples get-away, travellers looking for peace and privacy or, for sharing with family or friends. Sleeps four or an additional two guests on a pull-out sofa bed. Continental breakfast provisions are included or enjoy a full breakfast delivered to the Cottage for an additional cost. An In-house dinner menu is available. Tairoa Cottage is serviced daily.

The Gatehouse

The Gatehouse is a character home renovated with quality furnishings. With three full size bedrooms, a pool room and all you need for self-catering, it can sleep up to eight guests. Set privately with its own street access and picturesque gardens it is located adjacent to Tairoa Lodge. Ideal for the corporate market, families or contractors. Casual rates quoted, please enquire for medium to longer-term corporate rates.

Steve provides ‘behind the scenes’ support and works in Agri business.   Hannah and Caitlyn, our adult daughters, now live in Auckland but love to come home. Our knowledge of the Taranaki region is extensive and we are happy to assist you with planning your sightseeing, and pointing you in the direction of local eateries and Taranaki’s ‘Must Do’ experiences.
